1. Our Commitment

KiwiK is built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours and stays yours. We do not send, share, or expose any of your personal or transactional data to any artificial intelligence model — domestic or foreign, first-party or third-party, cloud-hosted or on-device.

This commitment is not a temporary policy decision. It is a core architectural choice baked into how KiwiK is designed, built, and operated.

2. No AI Processing of Your Data

KiwiK does not use any form of artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language model (LLM), neural network, or generative AI system to:

• Analyse, categorise, or label your transactions
• Generate spending insights, summaries, or predictions
• Profile your financial behaviour or habits
• Power search, recommendations, or personalisation features
• Process, store, or index any of your personal data

No data — including account details, balances, transaction histories, investment holdings, or any other financial information — is ever transmitted to any AI model provider, including but not limited to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Meta, or any other vendor, whether domestic or foreign.

3. How KiwiK Actually Works

Every algorithm, calculation, and analytical feature in KiwiK is built using traditional, deterministic, human-authored software engineering. This means:

• Transaction categorisation uses rule-based matching against known merchant databases and category mappings — written and maintained by our engineering team.
• Spending analysis and trends are calculated using straightforward arithmetic: sums, averages, percentages, and date-range grouping — the same maths you could do with a spreadsheet.
• Budget tracking and alerts compare your spending totals against thresholds you set — simple comparisons, not predictive models.
• Financial tools (mortgage calculator, stamp duty calculator, loan affordability, currency converter, tip & bill splitter) use published formulas and publicly available rate data — no AI involved.
• Regional benchmarks are derived from publicly available Office for National Statistics (ONS) datasets, not from modelling your data.
• Charts and visualisations plot your actual data points — there is no AI interpolation, smoothing, or generation.

In short: every number you see in KiwiK was produced by code a human wrote, using logic a human defined, running calculations you could verify yourself.

4. If We Ever Introduce an AI-Powered Feature

If, in the future, KiwiK introduces any feature that uses artificial intelligence or machine learning in any capacity, we commit to the following:

• Clear, upfront disclosure: the feature will be clearly labelled as AI-powered before you use it — not buried in a settings page or terms update.
• Explicit opt-in: no AI feature will process your data without your informed, affirmative consent. It will never be enabled by default.
• Transparency about providers: we will disclose which AI model or provider is involved, where the processing occurs (country/jurisdiction), and what data is sent.
• Ability to opt out at any time: you can disable any AI feature and request deletion of any data processed by it.
• This policy will be updated first: any change in our AI practices will be reflected in an update to this policy, with clear notification to all users.

Financial data is among the most sensitive information a person has. We believe you should not have to wonder whether your bank transactions, salary details, or investment portfolio are being fed into an opaque AI system you never agreed to.

Many fintech products use AI as a shortcut — to auto-categorise, to predict, to “personalise”. That convenience comes at the cost of your data flowing to systems you cannot inspect or control. KiwiK takes the other path: we invest in careful, human-built logic that runs locally and transparently.

The result is software that may be less flashy, but is fully accountable. Every output can be traced to a defined rule. Every calculation can be explained. There are no black boxes.
